Left Calf
Let it be known that I would never fake an injury, like Ben claimed during our racquetball game. Right after I served I felt something happen in my left calf. Not sure what it was, but immediately I could barely walk. The next day I hobbled around at work and canceled my run. It has been a week and walking is fine, but when I tried to jog a few steps today I could feel that “something”...
Clean waffles
Apparently Anderson isn’t into the whole clean eating thing yet!
sarahcatherinedoeslife:
Anderson loves waffles. I decided I wanted to start trying to incorporate some clean recipes into our day. This morning I made clean waffles and we used real maple syrup. Anderson took one bite, spit it out, and asked where the yellow waffles were. (Eggos) Emerson didn’t care. She ate the whole...
I'm 2-0 against Jed in Madden
UPDATE:
It is now 2-1 and I am confident that by the time I leave I will be up.

Sometimes
I wish the scale was alive so I could punch it in the face. Doesn’t it know that if I eat my calorie allotment and exercise, then it should go down!

First Ice Bath Ever
17 miles in 2:57. I thought I was going to run all these by myself on the treadmill, but at mile 2, cantstopcristin saved me and invited me to run with her and her husband, ironmanbrad. Great company and great run. I also decided to partake in my first ice bath. My lovely wife, Sarah, posted some of the shananigans.

Jed’s taking an ice bath. Some memorable quotes so far....

Ben and G, you guys would be so proud
I am not a big gambler. The only time I go to casinos is when Ben invites me or I am on some sort of trip. I like the thrill of gambling, but it hurts too much when I lose so I am not very good at it and won’t bet much. So tonight I got out $40 and I played the roulette wheel for a couple of hours and ended up $100 ahead. I wanted to keep playing but I decided to enjoy the moment and leave a...

My easy 4 miler turned into a fast 4 miles so that I could get home to watch the kids while Sarah went to Zumba. Normally we would take them to the child center at the fitness center, but they are both running fevers. I didn’t mind the change of pace, it felt good to get the heart rate up.

Last Night was AWFUL
As a Patriots fan the Super Bowl was not pleasant to watch. I went through the whole spectrum of emotions last night, and when I got home I couldn’t really function or put into words why I felt the way I did. Bill Simmons, The Sports Guy, as done a great job explaining exactly how I felt. It helps that he is a huge Boston/New England fan like I am. The rest of this post is his:

Hmmm…
This is good advice.
To my buddy named Guy
I need you to keep me up to date on your wagering. I would love to gamble all the time, but I don’t have the stomach or money to do it, so I live vicariously through your tumbler! If you enjoy gambling I suggest you follow Ibelieveinmysystem.
107 miles running for the month of January
Started February with 6.5 miles. Tonight was one of those runs that I didn’t want to do. At the 1.5 mile mark I REALLY wanted to quit, but if I only ran when I felt like it and had energy then I wouldn’t run very often. Of course once I was done I felt great and glad I did it.
